He has been cited as an expert on leadership and coaching on Forbes.com among other publications. He serves on the "Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards" committee for the Georgia Psychological Association, and he is on the faculty of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute.

In his spare time Dr. Dockery is widely known as a man who puts the "harm" in harmonica. He is a former professional musician who received the "Lucille Award" from B.B. King himself. Against the advice of his therapist and his own better judgment, he once played golf. He lives happily with his wife and children in Atlanta, Georgia.
